Garmin Acquires Its Austrian Distributor
No major management or personnel changes expected at Puls Elektronik GmbH.

Garmin has acquired Puls Elektronik GmbH, the satellite navigation companys distributor of consumer products in Austria. Terms of the transaction were not released.
The Nestelbach, Austria-based distributor will be renamed Garmin Austria GmbH, but will not undergo any major changes to management team, or its 30 employees.
Garmin chairman and chief executive officer Dr. Min Kao said, "We welcome the Puls Elektronik team into the Garmin family. They have been successful in making the Garmin brand the market leader in Austria and we expect the completion of this acquisition to enable us to achieve additional efficiencies and improve our ability to support key retail channels and OEMs in Austria."
In June, Garmin acquired NavCor Oy, the companys distributer of consumer products in Finland, and renamed the company Garmin Suomi Oy.
The Olathe, Kansas-based company was founded in 1989 and employs 7,000.
