High Road Closes on Milwaukee Gear
The acquisition is the New York funds initial transaction.
July 24, 2008
High Road Capital Partners, a New York City-based leveraged buyout firm, completed its acquisition of Milwaukee Gear Company and Treat All Metals, a sister company. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Milwaukee Gear is a Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based industrial manufacturer. Treat All Metals is a continuous heat-treating provider. This transaction is the first deal for High Road Capital Partners Fund I, LP, the firms entrant fund.
High Road managing partner Robert Fitzsimmons said, Milwaukee Gear is extremely well positioned to benefit from continuing growth in the industrial market, where the company benefits from the favorable export environment, and in the energy market, particularly in wind power, where there will be a substantial increase in U.S. manufacturing in the near future. We were very impressed with the company's capabilities in engineering and manufacturing close tolerance, extremely durable precision gears.
Babson Capital Management and JP Morgan Chase provided debt financing for the transaction. High Road manages about $150 million in committed capital, and is focused on the acquisition of smaller mid-market deals. The firm was founded in 2007.
