Hudson Clean Energy Partners recruited solar energy veteran Terry Jester to serve as an entrepreneur-in-residence. Jester, considered a leader in the global photovoltaic (PV) industry, will be collaborating with Hudson investment professionals Daniel Gross and Craig Cornelius to source investment opportunities in the niche.
Photovoltaic (PV) is the field of technology and research related to the application of solar cells for energy by converting sunlight directly into electricity.
Throughout Jesters 25-year career, she has created one of the first PV module archetypes designed to provide 30 years of reliable operating life. Also, she has led efforts to commercialize new manufacturing processes and product designs in the PV industry. Most recently, Jester led SunPowers $50 million Solar America Initiative research and development project, comprising critical supply chain and product development activities for one of the largest solar companies.
In speaking with MergersUnleashed, Jester described that there is a huge potential for industrial growth in the alternative energy space, which is what motivated her to align herself with Hudson. Their portfolio contains different investments with different approaches to energy that are likely to succeed.
Hudson Clean Energy Partners is a private equity firm that invests in the clean energy market. Hudson focuses on renewable power, alternative fuels and energy storage and demand-side energy management.
