BNY Mellon Poaches Citigroup MD
Ted Berenblum will head the firms alternative investment strategies, overseeing the expansion of its PE and real estate efforts

BNY Mellon Wealth Management recruited Ted Berenblum to serve as the head of its alternative investments. In the new role, he will report directly to Leo Grohowski, who serves at chief investment officer of the asset manager.
Berenblums role is a new one at the firm, and he will be expected expand BNYs private equity and real estate offerings, as well as strategies focusing on commodities, infrastructure, currency and portable alpha strategies.
Berenblum previously served as a managing director at Citigroup, where he headed its ultra-high-net-worth investment group in its global wealth management division.
BNY Mellon Wealth Management is a unit within, Bank of New York Mellon, whose advisory firms, banks and trust companies currently manage approximately $69 billion in alternative investments.
