July 8, 2008
Ernst & Young named Howard Roth as its global and Americas director of real estate at the firm, a promotion for Roth, who was previously the head of the firms Northeast real estate practice. In the role, in which he is succeeding the retired Dale Anne Reiss, Roth will oversee a network of 5,000 real estate pros from E&Ys New York office.
In a statement, Roth noted that the Ernst & Youngs global real estate center will focus on areas such as infrastructure development and privatization, sustainability and responsible property investing. Moreover, the group will continue to deal with the credit slowdown, and address the movement toward reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards as a replacement for US GAAP.
Roths track record has seen him work with real estate private equity funds, domestic and offshore real estate investment trusts, large public homebuilders, and construction and hospitality companies. He has worked on transactional analysis and acquisition due diligence.
