Castle Creek Capital adds Principal
Chicago banking pro will help PE firm increase visibility in the Midwest.

Castle Creek Capital announced today it has added J. Mikesell Thomas, a longtime Chicago banker, to its roster as a principal.
Thomas was most recently the president and chief executive of Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago and was responsible for the $80 billion banks restructuring.
Thomas is also a director and chairman of the audit committee of Evanston Northwestern Healthcare. He spent 21 years with First National Bank of Chicago, in roles including treasurer, chief financial officer and headed merchant banking and corporate and institutional banking, separately. Thomas also spent six years at Lazard, Freres & Co, where he advised M&A and financial transactions.
Castle Creek, established in 1995, is a private equity firm concentrating on investments in the financial services industry.
