CalPERS Director Joins Shamrock
Dennis Johnson will manage the Shamrock Value Activist Fund, L.P., founded in 2004.

Dennis Johnson, CalPERS director of corporate governance will join Shamrock Capital Advisors in the beginning of August as a managing director.
In addition to managing the CalPER $7 billion corporate governance investment program, Johnson was previously a managing director of Citigroup Global Markets and president and chief investment officer of Peachtree Asset Management. Peachtree is a division of Citigroup Asset Management.
In his new position, he will manage the Shamrock Value Activist Fund, L.P., which was formed in 2004. The fund makes equity investments in small-cap, publicly traded companies.

Shamrock Holdings was founded in 1978 to invest the assets of the Roy E. Disney family. Disney is the nephew of Walt Disney and a former director of The Walt Disney Company. In December 2007, Shamrock Capital Growth Fund, together with Bain Capital Ventures acquired Publishing Group of America. The firm owns 80 percent of the Harlem Globetrotters.
