K&L Gates Hires Fenwick Partner

Fred M. Greguras will join the Palo Alto office of legal firm K&L Gates from Fenwick & West.

New York-based law firm K&L Gates has announced the hire of Fred M. Greguras.

Previously, Greguras was a partner at Fenwick & West LLP. In his new position at K&L Gates, he will be a partner in the corporate, mergers & acquisitions, and securities practice, based in the firm’s Palo Alto office. Greguras focuses on corporate formation and venture capital financings, M&A, licensing, and commercial transactions.

K&L Gates chairman and global managing partner Peter J. Kalis said: “With Fred’s arrival, K&L Gates takes another step in building out our Palo Alto office while strengthening the transactional ties between our Asia offices and the U.S.”

On Monday, partners at K&L Gates and Kennedy Covington voted in approval of a plan to combine the firms, effective July 1, 2008. The combined firm will retain the K&L Gates name. At present, K&L Gates employs 1,500 attorneys in 25 offices.
