NBC Universal last week sent books out to interested parties seeking to buy either, or both, of its two network affiliates the company has elected to sell to fit its strategic goal of narrowing its owned-and-operated station platform to those in the 10 largest U.S. markets. At a time when top-20 market television stations are poised to rise in value thanks to what is anticipated to be unprecedented buyer interest, the General Electric-owned media conglomerate is situated to reap hundreds of millions through the sales.
